Pediatric Craniosacral Therapy
Why is Craniosacral Therapy important for infants & children?
During the birthing process the infant’s entire being undergoes a major transition, as does the parents. This natural, physiological process is often interrupted and therefore, incomplete. As a result, the infant can come into the world with birth-related trauma and an unfinished story. Craniosacral Therapy helps the infant, and parents integrate the birth process, and thus, mindfully complete the story of their birth together. As birth-parent and baby are intimately linked in this story, this resolution helps babies feel more comfortable within themselves and in the world which in turn supports new parent(s) to become more confident and fulfilled in their role as parents. |

The Craniosacral Session:
A Craniosacral session begins after a thorough consultation. A Pediatric session typically lasts an hour and it is preferable both parents attend each session. It is expected infants will need to nurse during the session and the practitioner will make necessary accommodations available. The number of sessions recommended depends on the needs and responsiveness of the child. Infants & children can experience a deep state of calm and well-being and may fall asleep during the session. Parents often report that their infant/child appears more relaxed and peaceful for days after the session, with a cumulative effect over a number of sessions. Please contact me with any questions.
