Craniosacral Therapy
Craniosacral Therapy (CST) is a subtle healing modality borne out of Osteopathy, the ancient art of bone setting. CST works on the physical, as well as, the emotional and subtle energetic levels to optimize the function and motility of the Craniosacral System, thereby supporting the bodies entire system from the inside out. The Craniosacral System consists of the brain, the spinal cord, 22 cranial bones, the central nervous system and the cerebro-spinal fluid that surrounds and protects these structures and processes. It extends from the bones of the skull, face, and mouth (the cranium) down to the sacrum. By tuning into the CS system, and particularly the cerebrospinal fluid, the practitioner is able to assist in the bodies' release of tension patterns, (both physical and emotional) thus allowing the bones, muscles, and tissues to move more freely. This freedom, in turn, allows the innate wisdom or "inherent treatment plan" of the body to come forth and express itself. Most clients experience a deep calm or rest both during and post-session which feels restorative and leaves them feeling more resourced within. |
