"You are more important than you know, and they fear the day you discover it." - Unknown
July 2, 2020:
Hello, I hope this email finds you and your family safe and healthy. I've been waiting to reach out with good news, and I thought it was here until yesterday when Alameda County postponed it's re-opening plans until further notice. In case you aren't aware, the State of California has given the green light to re-open Massage Therapy, but has given final say to the county. Here is the update. I really wish I had better news. I miss seeing and working with all of you! There are petitions being put forth to re-classify Massage as separate from Nail Salons and Tattoo Parlors. Hopefully, the County will listen and at least allow us to practice when "medically necessary". I will update you when I hear more. In the meantime, here are the current offerings at Touching In:
I've been enjoying offering Distance Craniosacral Therapy, and since this is unfamiliar to most people, I've written more about it here. Monday morning Meditations, 10:30-11:15 a.m. These guided meditations are 30-minutes and are designed as a "system check". They are a simple way of reducing anxiety and stress, and a great way to start the week. By becoming present with our whole selves and feeling into what is alive for us in the present moment, it becomes easier to see what we need to move through the day, the week, or SIP, in general. The meditation changes every few weeks and has included the 5-Senses, the 4-Bodies and currently the Earth-Heart Meditation. Please email me at: touchingin@gmail.com for more information. Cost: By donation through Venmo or Paypal Or feel free to make a donation to one of these important causes: www.blacklivesmatter.com www.splcenter.org www.edf.org Until next time, take good care and stay safe! Hello everyone,
I hope this finds you and your family healthy and safe as we all face the ever-evolving effects of COVID-19. I returned from my Meditation Retreat into a very different world than I left! And, interestingly, with "shelter in place" rules, it still feels like I'm on retreat. Over the last few weeks, I've been deciding about appointments weekly, and have canceled most. Now, it feels important, given CDC guidelines and "shelter in place" rules, to cancel sessions through the end of March. Feel free to book your next session on-line, as my scheduler books 3 months out. As for April, I will be in touch as the circumstances unfold. In the meantime, during this Great Pause, I hope we can all catch our breath, tend our hearts and be gentle with ourselves and others. One Spiritual Teacher said recently, "If you can't go outside, then go inside". A few offerings, for those interested:
Please let me know if you have any questions. It is my hope to stay connected and offer support during this challenging time. May you and your loved ones be healthy and protected. And may this pause be a deep medicine for the earth and for all of us. In health and community, Tomi Knutson |
